  15. pneumonia and kidney complications; in Tallahassee, Florida. For
  16. more than three decades Barber served up a steady stream of
  17. play-by-play palaver for the Cincinnati Reds, the Brooklyn
  18. Dodgers and the New York Yankees. His down-home eloquence
  19. painted pictures for his listeners in the days before
  20. television, and in recent years found him new fans with his
  21. Friday-morning commentary and reminiscences on National Public
  22. Radio.
